In October 2013 Thomassen Holding successfully participated in the first round of privatization of the power sector in Nigeria. The Transcorp Ughelli Power Limited consortium with local Nigerian partners Transcorp, Tenoil and Woodrock Energy was the successful bidder to take ownership of the 900MW Thermal Power station at Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria. The majority shareholder Transcorp is responsible for the management of the power plant and Thomassen is the technical partner responsible for all O&M matters for the 6 Frame 9E and 12 Hitachi H25 gas turbines installed at the plant.
