Thomassen provided consultancy services at Ubungo Dowans Power Plant through 2010-2011.

The existing Ubungo A Power Plant comprises of 3 x gas fired TM2500 gas turbine generators exporting power through one combined 93MVA 11.5/132kV step up transformer / switchyard. In addition a gas fired DLE LM6000 gas turbine generator set is exporting power through a separate 67MVA 11.5/132kV step up transformer / switchyard. In addition the existing Ubungo B Power Plant comprises of 1 x gas fired TM2500 gas turbine generator exporting power through one 11.5/33kV step up transformer / switchyard.

Based on the capacity of the Power Station, Thomassen provided the Plant Manager to ensure effective and efficient management, operation and maintenance of the Power Station.

Other operational site staff were the Tanzanian employees employed by Dowans. It would be our policy to train and promote the local staff to the required positions as to reduce the dependence on foreign staff in the long term.
